AIR HAMMER DRILLING
Down-hole hammer drilling is generally the fastest method of penetrating hard rock with fractures below ground and within Western Australia these hard rock formations are present.
Foaming additives are used in the drilling process to increase the up-hole carrying capacity of the return air. Down-hole hammers are used for hard rock drilling and enable water bores to be established from fractured hard rock aquifers such as Granite or very hard compacted sandstone or limestone structures.
For deeper holes you need a larger compressor to uplift the broken-up particles to the surface and out through the surface starter pipe.
